I would love to come visit your school.  I've spoken to students from Kindergarten through 8th grade.  My presentation includes a power point entitled 'Using the Six-Traits Writing Model in my Writing'.  I use a more in-depth presentation for middle school focusing on figurative language.   

I graduated from Kansas State University in Elementary Education in 1993.  I have worked as a librarian, teacher, college tutor, and have organized state and local youth writing contests.  These contests gave me a good feel for how children write and how to emphasize their strengths.  I cover the six-traits writing model, but I concentrate on stressing that the students use their own authentic voice in their writing.  I also offer a look at Kansas in the 1870s, where to find ideas, and the process of  getting published.  

My fees are $500 for a full day (up to four presentations); $275 for half a day (two presentations); and $150 for a single presentation.  My presentations run from 45 minutes to an hour.  My fees do not include the costs of lodging, travel or meals.
